Got a creaking noise coming from the axle or poss the prop shaft.

Cant seam to pin point the location of this noise, but it happens when the axle rotates on the leafs, when power is applied ahead or in reverse.

I will be replacing the spring shackles next week, and there is a small amount of play in the center UJ (only under power).

So I am thinking, it maybe the shackle bushing is worn on the top, but would this cause a creak, or more of a thumping noise? it doesn't do it when I jump up and down on the tow ball.

Maybe the center bearing? all the UJ's are well greased.

Any idea's of past experiences welcome Wink

Could well be a seized shackle bush causing the bush itself to turn on the spring eye. I replaced my shackles when I replaced the rear springs as they were pretty badly rusted and one was seized in the bush. I'd budget for a new set of shackles if you want your new bushes to last any time.
