Nate, it's quite straightforward....the next time you pull in for fuel, fill up completely and reset the odometer. Then the next time you put fuel in, just take note of the odometer reading again and record the litres of fuel taken to fill her back up to full (should be on your receipt if you get one). Then the maths bit...say for instance you've put in 60 litres, well you need to change that into gallons so divide by 4.5 which gives you 13.3 gallons. Then divide your odometer reading by this figure, e.g. if the odo was 400 the mpg would be 400/13.3 = 30.07.
For those with odometers reading in kilometers, you'll need to divide the odometer reading by 1.6 to change it into miles, then follow the above. Clear as mud really!! Confused
All the best,
Leo.

Wink Hi Nate,
If it's any help to you, over the last three weeks, I have completed three different types of journey with my 3.1 TD auto and calculated my fuel consumption using the tecnique previously posted above.
Towing a 1.5 ton caravan =20 mpg (no moterways or dual carriageways)
Long distance =28mpg (all motorways & dual carriageways)
Local running around =24 mpg (short journeys)
I hope it helps,
T T F N, Jocten
