FUN! FUN ! FUN! by the Seaside - Family Social, Holiday and Off-road Play August 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th 2006
An Invite from POCUK !!!
As some may know from last year, we have the ability to create our own Off-Road Track and play field on a farm near Scarborough. There is Camping and Caravanning available on-site, and we can have our own Social Area, gazebo, BBQ etc etc ... kids, dogs, awnings etc etc no problems.
Last year a few of us went and generally had fun, got dirty , and had a good holiday weekend - it was the first time off-road for some....
A Novice! - after 30 mins of "training !!"
The location is 4 miles south of Scarborough, with it's many attractions, such as Beaches, Amusement arcades, water park, fishing, moorlands, shops etc etc
(click pic to see other attractions)
There's a large Sunday Market 1 mile from the Site, Several pubs and food outlets close by, filling station etc etc (richie got us barred from the jet-wash last year!)
It is 2 miles north of Filey, with its glorious 7 mile beach, and family-friendly atmosphere.
Quote: |
Filey beach has joined Scarborough's North Bay and Whitby among Europes finest and most elite by winning a prestigious Blue Flag award. The award recognises that the beach has clean bathing water and the best facilities for visitors and was awarded by the environmental group ENCAMS in June 2004. |
Last year a few of us went out with a JCB and driver, and created the course beforehand....
If anyone brings any of Solihull's finest, we will help with recovery!
we can set up challenge areas, with various types of obstacles, mud, water and big open spaces to play in ! We will provide help, guidence, encouragement, training and instruction, and recovery !
IF YOU JUST WANT TO COME ALONG TO WATCH, AND NOT USE YOUR VEHICLE, THATS FINE - I'M SURE THERE WILL BE THE OPPORTUNITY TO "HITCH-HIKE" A LIFT !!
- pics from last year are below:-

The 3 nights (fri/sat/sun) camping and caravanning and 2 days use of the off-road track is available for £50, there is Social Area, toilets and water and disposal points etc ; and generators are ok. Dogs, Kids, Awnings, Boats, etc no problems...
For those wanting B&B or more facilities, there are huge caravan parks 1/2 mile away with Statics for rent, chalets and touring pitches.
B&B's are available in Filey, 2 miles away, or there are many farmstays, cottages etc around. If you need any recommendations, let me know.... As it is peak time, it would be wise to book soon !
local caravan parks - eg
Blue Dolphin
Crows Nest
This is an ideal opportunity to use as a starting point for a Family Holiday, or to add on Laning etc for a totally Off-road break ! - A visit to Diggerland is a possibility, or many of the other things going on in the region.... Events in Area
Please post below if interested, and add any ideas for the Track, Social gathering etc ! - this has potential to become one of the major meets in the Calender!
hope to see you there.....

Now that the kids have caught the camping bug I'll have a word with "She who must be obeyed ", but I reckon I may just come along to keep the Isuzu lads from showing everyone up too much . _________________
