How much play should there be on the caliper slide bolts?? My motor has a sqealing F/O/S brake when driving (driving me nuts!). I checked to see if anything was stuck and backed the pads off and all seems fine... except there is a good few mm of play in the caliper. Is it a simple job of fitting new slides/bolts or is it likely to need a caliper too?

How much "meat" is left on the pads ? coz they have metal squealers that tell you when the pads are worn.

Not a lot ... that will be what the squeal is!! I had a peek but couldnt see anything. I was planning to get the pads changed this weekend.

Copper grease the pins and backs of the NEW pads and all will be well.
