Hi All
I'm need of a bit of advice if possible,a couple of weeks ago we were coming back off holiday in my monterey which i fitted a 2.8 trooper engine in when all of a sudden the batteryand fuel light came on but the volt metre was reading ok,when i got back i fitted a new charging relay and that did the trick for a few days untill the same lights came on again and this time the volt meter dropped down to 12 volts and now doesnt move when you rev the motor ive had a volt mter on the alternator and it seems to be dead am i right in assuming its a new alternator or could ther be a prob somewhere else,i took the alteranator off and cleaned all the terminals but there was no change any suggestions mostly apprieciated.
                                      cheers Andy Sad

it looks like you've done all you can , it does sound as if its a new unit jobby m8 but i would get it tested by a auto elec person test it you might find it cheaper to fix.

the only reason i asked if you had been off roading is because markymoan said they play up if you get mud in them and a jet wash some times sorts it out .
