Ok - so its not actually a readers drive ... more of a "readers tag along" but as im chuffed to bits with it as its one built between me and one of my mates after deciding we needed a general use trailer but couldnt justify £900+ to buy decent one!
Its got a drop down tailgate/ramp hefty enough for a small tractor and a decent 900kg payload. Its a self build from a caravan chassis - we shortened it by 5' then moved the axle forward to maintain a healthy noseweight. We then added a new subframe on top and 18" wizzideck sides and base, a H frame at the front and the ramp at the back.
All the work was carried out in a truckbuilders workshop by me and one of my mates (he fits/repairs HIABs at the truckbuilders). Here are a few pics.. it still needs its final coat of paint on the metalwork and there will be a manual winch fitted for loading stuff on wheels etc. The overall build cost was around £100 ... not bad considering the chassis we bought came with two new tyres!

They are expensive.. but they also make the best box trailers - both for loading and towing. The Ifor trailers just seem to sit there behind the towing vehicle and always "feel right" _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

I have a little Ifor Williams, a 6x4 single axle job and it seems to tow fantastically. It came up 600 miles through France behind me at the weekend, empty, at motorway speeds with no dramas, most of the time apart from a little drag as its a heavy old b*gger you don't even know its teher. _________________ Phil
