My electrical aerial is broken (power is ok, but electric motor has given up), and now some g*t has snapped it off..... My local dealer can get me a replacement for 187 quid.... but does anyone know of a cheaper alternative. I'm not fussed if it isn't electric, but just one that fits and doesn't cost and arm and a leg.

Thanks.

It looks like there are a couple of options... the first is track down an aftermarket universal electric aerial and then fit the kit using your existing mounting parts, the second seems to be a glass mount aerial.

Glass mount

Universal Electric

From what i can see the electric one should fit... however I have not tried this one so cant guarantee!!

If anyone else has a snapped aerial, Maplin Electronics - [www.maplin.co.uk] - do one ref: A53FL costs 12 quid made by Hama. I'ts not electric, but fits exactly (took longer to remove the plastic wheel arch lining than fit the aerial!).

I'm still planning to fit an electric one, but this will do nicely until I do.

Stupot.
