My bighorn dwarfs our new suzuki, she has large grizzley tyres, 5 inch body lift , heavy duty gas shox and a 700 LB winch at the front, also snorkel.
Needed to do a bit of work on the carb, and a few other bits and pieces, the 1300cc engine is very sweet,  there is some welding on the back floor pan to be done, taken out the CD Player and replaced with a CB  radio!  (just like the old days!!)  Smile
We are just going to use it off road, and using the trooper get us there.
Going to have a fun time, wifey booked us into langdale for our first outing !

I want one  Very Happy

As for langdale, they will give you an off-road knowledge question sheet to fill out before they let you loose, its pretty basic like "how would you drive down a 35 degree hill" and the same for driving up etc.
I was fully loaded with camping gear when we went and it didnt half groan and click on the downhill slopes  Laughing

Nice Suzuki, we used to have a SJ410 Santana, drove it all the way to southern Spain off roading on the way in the Pyranees and Sierra Nevada.  Was a real hoot to drive and very capable even when standard so with that lift and tyres it'll go anywhere.  In France you can still buy a brand new SJ with a 1.9 turbo diesel lump in em.

Hi Everyone and thanks for the messages, we cannot drive it on the road because it does not have an MOT, everything works though, but i think the front side lights are missing along with the front bumper.
we just got it for a trip through the forest and anything else that gets in the way!
Have a few jobs to do on it first, replacing the rear axle oil seals and brakes, i like to stop quicky if need be  Very Happy
Have to unscrew the top section of the snorkel to get it in the gararge !!
hehe ! Shocked

What kind of vehicles can be used on the LQ site?
Forestry Commission stipulate that any vehicle used on their land must comply with highways legislation. This does not mean that they must be MOT'd! There are some classifications of vehicles which are exempt from MOT tests, for example Agricultural Use or Limited Use.

I think Limited use about covers it  Wink
