Anyone have a second hand set of hubs for sale or know where I could get them?

It seems that OEM manual hubs were pretty rare with most people opting for auto hubs.  I've looked at a fair few troopers in scrappys and not come across an original set of manual hubs yet.  That said I have the Milners AVM ones and they were a doddle to fit, about 20 minutes a side and work well, my original auto hubs slipped under pressure.

Thanks Phil,

I won't waist my time looking I'll just save up my pennies for auto hubs. I just wonder how they react with TOD, when/how does autolocking take place?

I have had a good think about that, all the hubs do is disconnect the driveshaft from the wheel,  shift on the fly works at the other end of the driveshaft using a syncromesh which means when engaged the shaft turns at the same speed as the wheel but isnt connected unless you twist the switch on the hub.

Scrub that, tod is a totally different system that can anticipate wheel slippage and attempt to prevent it before it occurs by automatically redistributing torque.
Shift on the fly is a crude but very effective means of engaging 4wd

Therefore, there would be a need to bypass it
ps. twisters is shift on the fly

I thought auto hubs locked themselves, but anyway you've just helped me answer my own question. I guess with auto hubs it's a back stop device where by the wheels can't drive the shaft but if you switch to 4 wheel drive then the shaft will drive the wheels therefore it should have no effect on TOD.

Mark,

I spent so long thinking what to write you beat me to it. TOD just adjusts the amount of drive it passes to the front wheeels if you engage it. But it should be OK with hubs if my theory on how the hubs work is correct.

Thanks for your help, this is a much more responsive and helpful site than the VX site.
