Hi all,

I am new to the forum.

I have just put a 4jb1 2.8td into my Land Rover 90, and have a question regarding the vacuum hoses.

Basically where do they go?  Any diagrams or help would be appreciated.

I have a boost guage showing me a value of 11 when I have the car floored.

I am only able to get the car to go to about 70, whereas I have friends who tell me I should be able to get well over 85 and over (even 100).

Could it be getting fuel starvation at high speed, or is my turbo set up wrong?

I currently only have 1 vacuum hose going from 1 side of the block to another.

Any advice would be greatly appriecated.

Regards

Rich

Thanks Mark,

I hear what you are saying regarding the speed issue.  If the vehicle only goes 70, this suggests I have poor acceleration which means I have an issue with my car.  Wink

I don't have a rev counter unfortunately

I actually lied about the hose I had going from one side of the block to the other.

I currently only have 2 hoses connected, and they are:

This one which is a short hose where my boost gauge also plugs in.

(It is just above the alternator 20cm up in the photo)

The other appears to run of the injection pump to the top of the engine as seen in the below pictures.

Any Ideas would be appreciated, is there something big missing?

Both hoses are only short and about 20cm long.

Regards

Rich
