Not for the Trooper, thats had all new ones.  I need a pair of rear shocks for my Chevy as I noticed when I removed my not insubstantial butt from the tailgate after a coffee and chocolate hobnob break when working on it at the weekend that it continued to boing up and down for about five minutes indicating that the shocks have seen better days.  My usual supplier US automotive doesn't carry any for it so it'd take a few weeks to get them in (not thats there's a crashing hurry as its still got some big bits of the cab missing) another US specialist Rodley motors wanted an wallet wrenching £38 + VAT quid each for bog standard Monroes which seems a little excessive when Range Rover ones are only twenty two quid each.

Not too fussy on brands, monroes, KYB's, etc will all be fine, they're standard eye mounts top and bottom and measure  13" closed/19" fully extended.  Its a 1967 Chevrolet C10 2wd coil sprung long wheelbase pickup.

Any suggestions as to good UK shock specialists welcome.

Chevy main dealers in this country would just gulp and say "wots one of those then?" as they only sell those Daewoo spam tins on wheels not real chevrolets. Importing them from the uSA is an option but would work out expensive as shocks are heavy so it would only be worth it if I went for something high end.

All of the big shock manufacturers will list them for it BUT only in the USA, trying to match the part number in the UK is the problem.  My usual supplier of all things chevy doesn't carry them, someone else quoted me £38 + VAT each for Monroes which is very pricey for what is essentially a bog standard OEM replacement shock and I now have a price for AC Delcos at £35 each.  KYB's have been reccomended but KYB UK couldn't help me and I'm struggling to fuind a UK stockist of US KYB parts.  I might just go with the Delco ones.
