I have a 1998 Trooper 3.1D.  The other day the water sedimentation filter light came on.  I drained the water out of the sedimentation filter and am sure that it is all gone.

However, the water sedimentation filter warning light is still on.  How do I turn it off?

i no expert with the trooper as only had mine for a few weeks but from past experience there is usualy a sensor inside the filter housing and the droplets of water crystalise onto the sensor so usualy to stop the sensor from reporting water in the fuel system it needs to be removen and cleaned
if you have drained the water i wouldnt worry about it until you do the next filter change

if anyone can quote me wrong pls feel free

good luck

This is probably a stupid question, but I have not gotten any consistent answers.  Is the water sedimentation filter supposed to be changed out regulary, or just drain the water?

Is there a disposable filter inside?
