hi just need a queation answered i have just got a a handbook though for the bighorn and i was reading about the engine warm up switch located on the right side of the drivers side just below the mirror flip in switch. It says you use it in cool condition to warm up the engine and or warm up the cabin. The way i understand it is that it speeds up the warm up period i have just tried the switch but could not see any differents. Then I read the book again and its say it only works when it is cold/freezing weather. Does anyone know how this works?? |

Yes it closes flaps on the intake and exhaust, it sticks and causes problems with overheating and lack of power
Best thing is to unplug it from the back of the switch. _________________ |

So it’s a big no no cheers for the feedback to be honest I don't think I would have a use for it anyway. The trooper seams to warm up fairly quickly anyway well for a diesel it does. |

I havent got pics of the ones on the 3.1 but because its not used for 6 months at a time they have a tendency to stick, you will find that most here dont use it because of that reason. _________________ |

What system has the 3.1 of 98 Monty era got! I ask as sometimes mine goes well and other days feels really lazy. I'm aware of the flap underneath in the exhaust. I ask, as I was giving it some welly to get onto motorway towing the caravan, and it sort of popped, and it sounds if I now have a blow in that area, beginning to wonder if, although I never use it , I might have had a blockage. It seems to go a lot better too! |
