I've tried to organise this before and everyone (from ITOC) dropped out in the end and missed a cracking day out so I'll try a different tack now.

Would anyone like to go green laning in North Wales?

I know loads of trails and I'm thinking of a run which takes in some easy and non-damaging  trails which can be done in shinies, no problem. You'll get muddy all-right but won't dent your pride and joy.

I know that these lanes may be a bit tame for some (rabbit, mr. Twister etc) but the emphasis is on a nice, family day out in the country with, maybe, a pub-lunch.

If you're up for it please post your preferred dates (have to be a Sunday, mind) during November, December and January and I'll organise a run to suit the majority.

The earlier you can let me know the better as I have to check with the councils in case there is any TROs etc. as I have to make sure that all is legal. (Don't want to pi$$ anyone off)

When a date is settled, I'll do the checks with the councils and organise a nice trip and guide it so everyone can just turn-up and enjoy a winter day out in the country and it's free!

One of the trails I know even goes through a managed pine forest. Christmas trees. Everywhere. Surely they'll not miss one? Or two?

By the way, please post your preferred dates and also your second choice dates as I'd really love to organise something that can be attended by as many as possible - wouldn't it look great, a row of Troopers snaking through the Welsh wilderness? Laughing

Sorry, matey - there is tarmac between the trails and even the trails are proper rights of way so to be legal you have to be taxed, insured etc., etc.

Man, bring your shiney - it won't get hurt, promise - just a nice day out in the country, meet new friends, get a bit muddy, have a laugh, go home.

I do these trips all the time it's just a bit of fun. 8)

You can count me in for that !

Some really good lanes around North / Mid Wales, assuming they havent been affected by the NERC bill. ( thinking about it, does the NERC bill cover Wales ? )

Yeah, I'm from the Potteries although I think we're more famous for producing Robbie Williams these days  Laughing

Been thinking about the green lane day and I would rather organise it for sometime in December if that's all-right and don't worry about the legal stuff as I'll check it all out first as we don't want to do owt illegal or we make ammo for the greenies and nimbys.

Starting at Corwen about 9ish if that's not too early.

You only go about a mile then cross this and it doesn't matter how many times you do it, it still feels weird driving your car up a river.
