Does anyone know what are the most likely reasons for a Check engine light on? The car is imported here from Germany, and there is not any dealer for Isuzu- so no dignostics tool   to be found

Hi, I just returned from a bar... It's a 4JX1, 110 000km, I read about it on this forum, two years ago I changed the injectors- two of them exploded previously, a lot of trouble. One year after the change, the check engine light started to light on and off while driving..This spring it got worse, the engine started to stop after ingnition on once in a while and I experienced several times oil leakage -after I went in car service- (specialised on Skoda, it's true and also in diesel injection as they say).
The last 8 months the car was parked and only periodically started on. I would appreciate some hints as the Isuzu service network here is missing.

I took the car to the service here and first thing they said is I need new glow plugs- on Wed, 13 Dec I will get them, they are ordered.. The second thing they said is the EGR valve should be changed- it was proved in a way, after it was disconected check engine turned on after 5 minutes of idle working, on and off intermitently ... and it was completely on when connected.. What do you think?

Hi
I'm back. Long time no hear. Thank you for the advise above, it took me hours to find back the user  Smile .
I managed to buy a new throtle body, it took a while, I bought it from Milner Off road one month a go- good guys and have it sent here via DHL...This year I bought a suv as well but I really miss the good off road capabilities of Isuzu.- I only drove it for 200 km. in 12 months.  A suv is no match for a steep snowy road up to mountains here, Isuzu is.
In the last week I managed to go around for 20 km from the service and the rpm indicator (revs called?) was shaking- up and down for a while, a loss in power was felt also, and a sudden power reapering... It stops several times while waiting for green trafic light  but could be started on back... some times after several trials ... but no check light on    Very Happy

What I noticed? When moving the car doesn't stop, I mean the power doesn't go off.. It goes off only when idle, especially after a longer idle... also this power lose.
What I did in the last months: have the oil changed- 5w30, oil filters changed, fuel filter changed,  plugs changed, new battery and now throtle body...
As I have real difficulties in finding a Tech 2 here, actually nobody has it, my chance can be truck dealer of Isuzu with 4jj1 diesel engines - starting Jan they will have tester here as well.. what would you advise me to do? I read some topics like try the oil strainer...Or maybe it is better to order the oil pressure sensor and have it replaced.- agian with Milner Off road but no computer to register any code of a new oil pressure sensor..

I am fairly sure you need a tech2 to code in most parts on the trooper so you may find that your throttle body needs to be done

No point getting new oil pressure sensor until you can find someone to code it in

Throttle body is a simple bolt-in replacement - they are usually supplied set at the zero point (dont adjust any settings on them!)
The sensor will need coding into the system before any benefit will be seen.

Thank you guys,  I will look after a  tester around- which is difficult task in itself... This car is permanent quest for solutions and acts like a quiz...It worked great for 3 years, I forgot to tell you I replaced the injectors back in 2004, o-rings and sleeves. I think of diagnosing  it by the flash codes, I saw it in the book... Is it reliable the diagnostics?
Order the faulty part and tester will come in glory ...

No tester found, no Tech 2, actually no Tech 2 with Isuzu software on, I hate Opel dealers as they are tens.. for this..I found out on  thread that if replicing a sensor, in my case the oil pressure sensor and I don't use Tech 2 to code in the ECU than it does not perform at it's optimum.. but it works.
It makes sense as I changed the injectors, sleeves and O-rings and I didn't use the Tech 2 to code them in, as suggested and the car works, not fine as before  but works... So I assume it must be the same.. Trouble is, if I try to see any DTC from check engine light , by connecting pin 4 to 6, right now it doesn't show any fault, as I disconnected the negative wire form battery and all DTC's  are erased. Also no simptoms, the car starts fine, it does not stall when used for several km but I have fear going longer trips...

I've driven it these days around the streets, initially worked fine, but after several km the rev also turned lower than noirmal, no acceleration alowed and I stopped it in the parking place and I measured again DTC'c on board after several days: DTC 63 and 56- which I found out to be oil pressure sensor and immobiliser going wrong. For the first I am sure I have to replace it but what for the immobiliser? How can I correct it= I mean without discunnect the battery  negative wire...

It seems it works fine now. I ordered with Milner Off Road online an oil pressure sensor and I replaced it.. No re-coding as told by the manual so maybe it does not work at its optimum but works. I strongly advise anyone to read the manual and do a self check of the error displayed by connecting 4 and 6 pin from the  computer plug in.. It's the same like seeing it over a Tech 2. Thank you all who replyed here. The immobiliser was a small pb at the battery

I am going to tune it for offroad tripos, I found out clubs here, it works fine, still no tester but this Isuzu is a mull - goes no matter what
