|
|
I have just bought (taking delivery Friday) an X reg 2000 LWB Insignia. Its not vital, but I wondered if at some time in the future I could fit the two rear folding seats fairly easily? Any advice would be welcome please.
Great site, really informative. Thank you. |

Mine was a five seater and i converted range rover seats to fit on the wheel arches put lap belts in the luggage points. i looked into fitting trooper rear seats but it is a lot bigger job as the fixing points are not there, saying that it is not impossible.. With the rangie seats you just have to adapt the brackets a bit and drill the arches to fit them in. if interested i will take some pic's and post so you can see what they are like. |

SORRY Its been a while but here we go
The seat folded
And down
As you can see there are a couple of things i need to do like put a strap above the seats to fix when up(similar to shogie's shhhhh), also tidy the brackets up a bit, this was MOT'd straight after i fitted these and it flew through. You might be able to get these cheaper but i paid £80 plus vat from doncaster motor spares(biggest scrap yard i ever saw) |

I was after a 7 seater but i saw this car and it wanted to come home with me so that is why i opted for these seats, I could have put them forward facing but it would have took quite a while to adapt the brackets to make them fold to the window,Or just take much needed space in the boot and i was abiout to embark on a 2500+ mile journey to relatives in germany, all went well and kids were comfy in our 18 hour each way trip(more than the mk1 shogie we had)Hope this helps you a bit and good luck with your car.. |
