'lo,

When I bought my Trooper (3.0TD import '01 plate) the dealer told me to make sure that when the oil is changed that they use "Arctic" weight oil otherwise it would take longer to turn it over when cold.

I just got it serviced the other day & now it's taking significantly longer to turn over in the cold mornings.

I've checked out Castrol's website & their oil weights for the 3.0 TD Troopers is listed as 5w-40 (10w-40 alternative).

Question is - how heavy is "Arctic" oil so that when I question what the garage has changed the oil to I'll know if it's too heavy or not?

Interestingly the 3.1 TD Trooper is recommended to use 0w-30 (with 10w-40 as an alternative).

Cheers,

Z~

As Chris mentioned 5w 30 the one. In my experience those specs you quote look the wrong way round for the engines.
