Is there a book coving uk green lanes?
One with directions and maps, cos buying os maps all the time would be vv exspencive, and I dont quite know what I am looking at.
I know these are ok for cars -+-+-+-+- but are all green lanes marked in this way?

Have you heard of Total Off Road magazine , there's a green lane in every issue , the last one we did was from Thornton dale near Helmsley . You just follow tulip diagrams and zero your trip meter now and then . Some routes are harder than others and you can order back issues , a great mag aswell but getting more and more like a Land Rover mag every month |

B.O.A.T.S.
To be honest i have spent some time looking at OS maps..
Found a few here in north cheshire / south manchester but not very long...
They look like a drit road connecting 2 small yellow (4 meter wide) roads together.
when i get a few hrs one sunday morning i might have a peek at one and see if i can drive along the byway -
If im brave enough i might even try it in the dark... its about time i used my 7 inch spot lights !! |

Yeah I have an issue of that, it has a "30 green lanes to drive this winter" article in.
But even with the relevant os maps I cant find them (dunce face) as they don't have a pic of the path on a map. |

the latest one has a route in notts
starts near worksop - ends near newark - Ive done some of it before and am going to do it complete soon - think it will take about 5 hours
trouble is finding time in the daylight - thinking off maybe doing it in the dark! |

Since the NERP bill was passed the number of green lanes open to vehicles has been greatly reduced. Important now to make sure all the lanes we use still have vehicular rights of way. This can be done by visiting your local records office and marking the green lanes onto OS maps from the definitive map of the area heald there. Think it should also be possible to go through your local GLASS representative. Or try your local 4x4 or Land Rover club. _________________ Isuzu Trooper SWB 3.0DT Commercial |
