I have read previously about people having problems removing the oil filter, I've always found it quite easy, the height of the body even allowing my sizeable bulk to slide under. What are you using to remove it? I have a claw type affair spins off easy. |

If you use Fram oil filters they are a smidge wider and are a tight fit between the exhaust and torsion bar. The Blue Print filters fly through the gap. _________________ 94 Big Horn 3.1 Lotus Auto

I've got a set of these type left over from my motorcycling mechanic days and they are great.
By the way, don't forget that used engine oil is carcinogenic so wear gloves or wash hands before going to the bog cos the only lumps you want down there are baby factories. _________________ 1994 BIGHORN 3.1TD LOTUS

I've had no problems with a bog standard strap wrench. _________________ 94 Big Horn 3.1 Lotus Auto

You can buy them singly if you know what you want and I paid about £2.50 each (trade price - don't know about retail). Different makes of filter can have different hexs though so you need to be sure which you want.
I got mine through a trade account with Bike-It but am no longer in that business and they ONLY deal with the trade. If you enter your postcode (first two letters) in the following link you'll find motorcycle shops that can order one for you.

Hope this helps. _________________ 1994 BIGHORN 3.1TD LOTUS

I think you will find them easily enough, I often see them about. I was thinking of getting some until the filter I bought was smooth with, no hex. |

You can get a unit from halfords, that fit's to a ratchet as mentiond above.
Makes an easy job of it. |

The unit has three arms that grip the filter more as you turn the ratchet. |

you cannot use a 3.0 filter on a 2.8 the thread size is smaller ,as for the three leg puller ,it is good for taking it off ,but i was told to give it half a turn after hand tightening with a strap .you would damage it with the three leg wrench .it has been known for them to come loose if not. |
