Hi everyone I am a new member who is a little the wrong side of 60. Just bought a Trooper ~ Bighorn 3100. Secondhand but boy is it clean, good service record and drives just great, just had some mag wheels and BF Goodrich fitted. Love to go off road and we also tow an Abbey Michael Jordan Expression, with no problems at all. Beats the hell out of the "Paj" iv'e just got rid of. So watch out Devon here we come. Bit of a busmans holiday really we live not far from the beach in Bournemouth. If you are looking for a terrific little family run site in a great part of the country try the link below and have a look, you will love the easy laid back way the people run it. They even have a adults only field for us old beggers.    Smile Well Guys and Gals, hope to get to know you better. The Caravan site is really worth a look reasonable prices some including all service pitches, Club House, Shop, all spotless, etc, etc. But see for your self and I am sure that Gordon & Thelma will make you as welcome as us. We have been going back for over four years now and never get tired of the site. Who knows perhaps we will see some of you there in the future.

Good looking site - although they seem to have a thing about kids and dogs - wander if they have had a bad experience

I don't know much about the Akita if it's anything like the GSD its a friend for life,  A minority of bad owners give the dog and us sensible owners a bad name, A dog is what you make it, and i would trust mine with my life.

Hi All, I see there are a few sceptics amoungst you. The site itself is run by family people and kids and dogs are all made welcome. Two dogs per van max. All breeds are normally excepted. We have two dogs ourselves and friends also have two quite large labs. Like any responsible site they expect people with children and owners of dogs to have some form of control over thier charges, for the enjoyment and saftey of all. If this is not the case they will be asked to leave. Although in the four years we have been there I have never seen that happen, mainly as most are responsible persons. They have loads for kids to do and they are welcome in the bar at night, supervised of course. So no they don't have a thing about kids or dogs. The adult only field is in the main for those who have reared thier own familys or need a little peice and quite. I work amoungst 600+ youngsters every day and its nice to have a little time to myself on holiday and believe me you have to wind down after being with that many youngsters every day, all year. It is a good site run by people who care about you, not your cash and in a great part of the country. So there you are what more could you want. Like most things life is what you make it.

Sorry Del

The Website didn't give that impression - that being said when I am next in that neck of the woods will look them up as the site looks nice

Maybe it is just the way the web site it written - it comes across a bit harsh Smile

It looks to me that they just dont want Alsations rottwielers dobermans and pit bulls.
It seems fair to me and i like the idea of an area without kids for those that want a quiet break  Smile

The point is no one is allowed Pit Bulls!

Sorry I just get annoyed that people band certain breeds of dogs - it is the owners that cause the problems not the dogs

I have had more problems with little dogs like jack russells than any large breed

Sorry to Hijack thread - will shut up now Smile

Hi, Just like to say, that the site in question does take dogs, there are a great deal that do not. We all know that any dog is only as good as its owner. Alsations Rottwielers Dobermans and Pit Bulls unfortunatly have had a lot of bad press and in some cases with good couse, it is hardly surprising that owners of sites take the view they could be a problem. That would be no good for other people using the site or for that matter their business. Alsations are used as sheep dogs and control dogs, if reared as they should be are they are most inteligent and gentle dogs. My father used to breed them for the US air force at RAF Northolt. Friends of ours have a Rotty and he is a stupid giant of a dog that would not harm a fly. My Boss has two Dobermans and they are lovely. But then again a Pit Bull is an out and out bred fighting dog has been for a very great number of years and even with all the best intention and training, that is still below the surface. Its a shame really because as usual the few ruin it for the majority, with the help of the media. And to be honest its only the few that cause the problem, both owners and dogs.

Whats fair about it? I'm glad the legal system isn't like that one man commits murder and all mankind are murderers, Sound fair? I think not. Still it is their site and their rules but fair ?????????

I hope no one Uses a 4x4 to do anything illegal or we are all in the DOGhouse

Alsations or GSD's Rottwielers and Dobermans are three of the most gentle well behaved dogs you can set your eyes on if in the hands of a responsible person, I can understand some people being scared of big dogs but to tar all big breeds with the same brush to me is just small minded... I don't think any responsible adult would want a pit bull for a family pet,,,, and again it is not the dogs fault, we bred into them what they are today..

Im with you on this one Tim and feel strongly about it...

Ok rant over
