Managed to find this info squirrelled away on the web and thought it may be of help to folks having auto probs.

13   Open Oxygen Sensor Circuit
14   Coolant Temperature Sensor (High Temp Indicated)
15   Coolant Temperature Sensor (Low Temp Indicated)
21   Throttle Position Sensor (Signal Voltage High)
22   Throttle Position Sensor (Signal Voltage Low)
23   Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) Low Temp Indicated
24   Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Circuit
25   Manifold Air Temperature (MAT) High Temp Indicated
32   EGR system fault
33   MAP sensor circuit (signal voltage high, low vacuum)
34   MAP sensor circuit (signal voltage low, high vacuum)
44   Oxygen Sensor Circuit (Lean Exhaust Indicated)
45   Oxygen Sensor Circuit (Rich Exhaust Indicated)
51   PROM error (faulty or incorrect MEM-CAL).

Please bare in mind that if you have a kmh to mph electronic speedo converter fitted, you will get a code 24 flashed as the control unit can't "see" the speed sensor bacwards through the converter.

Good stuff Mart. Two questions.

1.This is Bighorn specific as they tend to be different from Trooper?
2. Is this for all MKII's from '92 up to 3.0 or from '95 on?
I didn't reckon we had all those sensors on early ones!

OMG Shocked

Dunno about if it applies to troops, I suppose it should, it said all Isuzu and was dated 1991.

I suppose if we don't have the sensor, then it can't fail and therefore we will never get the code!?!?!

From an earlier post by MartQ

"Run your fingers along the top of the plastic trim at the side of the centre console in the drivers footwell next to where the clutch pedal would be in a manual.  You should feel a loose cable.  Fish it out.  It should have a green (usually) three pin connector on it.

With the ign OFF, connect a piece of wire between the 2 outside terminals.  The earth wire from a bit of household twin & earth cable is ideal as it is difficult to get a good connection.

Switch the ign ON but don't start engine.  Watch the "Check Trans" light, on the fascia, just behind the right hand rim of the steering wheel.

It should start flashing fault codes at you.

If yo get a repeating double flash, pause, 4 flashes, longer pause etc, this is telling you a fault code of 24, which is the Vehicle Speed Sensor.

If it flashes other codes, they may be in memory.  Disconnect battery for about a minute, then reconnect.  Go for a short drive, a couple of miles or so, then carry out the above procedure.  If you still get more than one code, make a note of what it decodes as in the same manner as above and let me know, I'll see what I can glean from this."

Hope this helps.....

Can someone please clarify how you read these fault codes.  (i.e. how flashes and pauses, etc translate to fault code numbers).

Thanks in advance.
