Firstly I'd like to say thanks you guys for being great company and real good sports. Dunno what happened to Rabbit, though - he sent a txt to say he was on the way and I later tried to phone him but it just rang with no answer. We all waited nearly an hour after the designated start time for him but he never showed. A reply would have been appreciated, - there were a lot of folk waiting.

Well it looked bad when I went (on my own as I was early) to look at the first river crossing. No way. It was too deep for anything after all the snow so we had to bypass that and then we were all getting stuck in some real deep snow up the first trail and got pretty delayed. Most of us persevered, though and got through in the end - a few had to turn back and met us further along the route. After that though we had a good time. Mind you, I thought it was fun getting stuck/unstuck too - it's all part of the fun.
Anyway, I won't go on as everyone will have their stories to tell but all you blokes are a sound bunch with a real 'can-do' attitude and made the day a pleasure.
Matski's taken some great pics of us all crossing a river that's usually only about a foot deep but was up to the headlights in some spots today  Shocked

Here's a few of my pinhole-camera piccies to whet your appetite.

The first crossing.
At this point the car would normally still be about 20 feet from the water.

MTs meet snowdrops.

A few Troopers

Wales - lovely with some snow on it

Waaaay steeper than it looks here

Fording (great fun)

Wow... looks like I really missed the fun!!  Cheers to Crocket for organising what appears to have been a cracking day out.

A great day, and the first lane was the best IMO, getting stuck and all mucking in is what it's all about, If we worry about getting stuck we might as well stick to the roads.

Thanks to Crocket for putting the day together.

Photos will follow tomorrow when I get a chance.

And thanks again Marky for letting me pinch your speedo cable on the way back.

I had a great time - so thanks Crocket for organising it.

It really shows you want a trooper is capable of (and also what it isn't!)

I'd also like to thank Keith for pulling me out (and dare I say it mr Disco Man for the loan of his recovery strap!)- but hey he got stuck as well Smile

I had a great day - got back at 8pm having let at 5:30am and having done just under 400 miles - look forward to the next one

(and I swear that ford looked deeper from behind the wheel!)

Off to hunt down some decent A/Ts now

Thanks Crocket for a superb day.  Sorry we had to turn around early, Mrs MartQ Hadn't been too well all week and the waiting around wasn't doing her any good, but we all enjoyed the bits we did manage immensly.  Should have some photo's to post later, just got to get them off the camera first.  It was good to meet up and put some faces to names too.

Thanks again.
