i read that to mean that greenlanes are not to be used "to practice recovery" and i agree they are not a playground - if you want that then go to a pay and play day

but recovery when stuck is different.

it sthe winching and ground anchors that are "recovery techniques"

giving a stuck menber a tug with a rope is minimal in my book

If you are stuck in deep mud, then you are probably damaging the lane by driving it at the wrong time of year, or in the wrong conditions.

The land we all got stuck on was mainly a stony surface, and would not be damaged by driving with care in winter.

The only reason recovery was required was due to snow.

Just as long as we're all singing from the same hymnbook. We really don't want to be giving the Anti 4x4 mob any ammo.

ive never got stuck on a green lane yet -but it depends on the vehicle and how is prepped - plus so many different surfaces around the UK

if it wasnt for the snow in wales it could all have been done in 2wd

Looking at the pics DYLAN has snow clogging his tyres not mud so hopefully no damage done... i suppose its just a reminder on this occasion.

I think to be fair most of it did seem to be the depth of the snow.
