I am starting to regret buying my trooper

So far in the 10 months I have owned it I have had

1x new clutch
1x complete exhaust (yes cat as well)
4 x new shocks
Rear disks and pads  £1500

And then TPS £350
2 x Oil Pressure Switches £100 + fitting

and still it don't idle properly and local dealer cannot work it out - they have still got the truck and have  a specialist turning up tomorrow to look at the system as now the revs drop to approx 400 rpm every so often at idle (and if it is warm weather this often results in a stall)

This is starting to break the bank now -almost tempted to part ex it for something else!

Funnily enough i know exactly how you feel, but my problem car was a mitsubishi shogun, so i brought a trooper and not regretted it.  At least most of the things you have had to buy have been general running things, but with my shogun non of the parts i had to buy (and still wouldnt work) were general run of the mill running costs.  (i sold my shogun for £400 yet i had spent in excess of £2000 trying to get it to work)

I dont know what to say to cheer you up,

I am sure some one will come along to give you some pointers.

Gypsyfilly

You are correct in that most of my cost was wear and tear - just wish it hadn't happened in one go Sad

Here's waiting to see what happens

Eithan you out there ?  Any suggestions as I know the garage are struggling?

TPS as that was throwing up an error code.

That made it much better but still there

This time replaced Oil Pressure Switch as it was giving dogdy readings occaisionally - that error has now gone

But still not right and they haven't given me details yet of what they have tried and too be fair appear to have spent a fair amount of effort on it so are waiting to see what this guy suggests as he hopefully will have more experience of Troopers - will see what he says and what it would cost me

Right they are trying a Map Sensor now? - but on a see if it makes any difference and if it doesn't take it off - That's all they can think of at the moment
