Is it possible your transfer lever is not fully home? Sounds like you have found a false neutral somwehere.

Sounds like transfer gears rather than clutch. While it's in the air set it to 4L and turn the front wheels by hand, it may help to turn both wheels at the same time. Other than that can't think of an easy way to diagnose it, sorry Crying or Very sad

checked transfer oil seemed fine.removed inspection cover from bellhousing ,the pressure plate seems to have come off the flywheel Sad  one nut got damaged while undoing gearbox so will have to burn it off, might try to force a smaller imperial socket on the nut  Exclamation   not a very nice job removing gearbox.will see exactly tomorrow hopefully. never thought it possible to sheer pressure plate off flywheel. Question Is there somewhere on forum that i could download the manual maybe then get a better idea of what the hell has caused this  Question
