I always thought the BigHorn was noisier than it should be.

Looking around, seems the top half of the engine bay bulkhead is bare steel. Even if there was a lot of soundproofing on the inside, it couldn't be doing any good, and I don't think there is that much on the inside.

So I bought some self-adhesive soundproofing off of eebuygum, and stuck it all over, double thickness in places.

Its quite an akward job. I took off cable clamps etc, to make things easier.
I loosened the wiper motor to get around that.
I couldn't get into the drivers-side inner wing due to the servo and vacuum pumps etc.

Its the most boring photo in the world - but hey

It does seem to be a bit quieter at speed on the motorway too  Smile

That's definitely a Southern 'Horn. It's got a clean (and quiet) engine bay.... Wink

Did it make an appreciable difference? I was thinking of doing something to mine. You could pop round and do mine I'm only up the road a bit! Wink

I had all the accessible bits (i.e. under carpets, behind door-panels, etc.) sound-proofed a while ago, as well as doing under the bonnet, etc.... -- and I would say that it made quite a bit of difference.

See the bottom of this thread for further info.
