|
|
Due to a difference of opinion about the likely possibility of damage to our trooper while off roading I now need to explore the option of not going again or getting another motor so does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about A frames for towing with, it's probably going to be another trooper just for playing but I would like to avoid buying a trailer as well if I can. Any Ideas? |

There will be many different thoughts on this one , but I think it boils down to the fact that a towed vehicle or trailer above 750kg's has to be braked , so towing a trooper with an a frame is illegal |

Towing for recovery is a different matter... Pete is spot on with the 750kg limit. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

They do use braked dollies - also for short term use they use unbraked a-frames but its only for emergency use. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

If you use an a-frame, then the towed vehicle wheels are in contact with the ground.
These are braked.
There is no test for trailers to check if the brakes are working.....so.... technically....you could argue that the towed vehicle is braked, they just don't happen to apply when the towing vehicle brakes. _________________ 94 Big Horn 3.1 Lotus Auto

It would be quite scary to tow another trooper without brakes for long distances... 4.0 tons+ with standard brakes _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60
