Please help, what is the visible difference between citations and big horns, i know that big horns are the imports and citations are the troopers for uk market. However the trooper i am looking at looks like a citation and has no wing mirror and not added fog lamp at back, yet the garage says its a big horn and an import, yet advert says citation. Its a bit too far for me to go and inspect it personally unless i am serious about purchasing it. |

Some more markers other than the ones you mentioned are:
- The UK spec cars have lights set in the rear bumper as well as the rear quarters.
- The Japanese market cars will have all the little instruction labels and warning stickers in Japanese with no English translations.
- The Japanese market cars have one battery on the offside; the UK market cars have a second battery on the nearside of the engine bay.
I'm sure there are more..... |

thank you topvaux, if i go by your help, then the trooper citation is an import, in which case the garage does know what its talking about. lol.
it has done 44,000 miles and says it has full service history, do imports have that
If it is an import, what sort of questions should i be asking and is there a way of finding out if all recall work has been done on it
Advert also says it has only had one owner. its an 02 plate, would £8495 be a good price for it. |

I very much doubt it'll have any of its Japanese service history on board. It will all be in Japanese, anyway!
Presumably it's a car which was built in 2002 and imported as a used vehicle some time after that? Used imports are registered in the UK with an index number appropriate to its build date.
I suspect you might have a bit of hassle over recalls. International Motors handle the UK spec imports and their warranty and so on. They won't have any details relating to a Japanese market vehicle and, to be honest, I expect they are busy enough looking after "their own" vehicles. You'll certainly be at the back of any queues I'd have thought.
I may be wrong, but if it was a 3.1TD import I'd buy it without a second thought (as I have done twice!) but if it's a 3.0TD import I'd steer clear of it because you'll need IM and their dealers' support on recalls and stuff. You can pick up UK 3.0TDs well worth the money - similar to the import you're looking at - so I'd stick to a pukka UK 3.0TD (as I have done, too!). |

One battery on a 3.0 ... sounds like a cypriot import to me - give Isuzu UK a call and they will be able to tell you straight off (with the Chassis/VIN no) _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

The dealer ssured me that it had never been 'messed with' and that these bits were there from new Its only a one owner vehicle 1998!
BTW whats all this TWO batteries stuff? Mine is a 3.5 V6 petrol.
