i have had my mk1 for about 18 months now and don`t seem to be able to get a reading on the temp gauge,never uses any water,does`nt run hot.any ideas on how to test for what the fault is?

its never moved!! replaced brass sensor on the block i while ago but no joy.!

Are you sure you replaced the right one, as there are three in the same area.

You want the one below the t-stat not the ones above it.

Also mate, just check the earth wires as over years can get dirty and be less efective!

double checked this evening and did replace sensor jus below t/stat,iwill check out earths too,i wounder if replacement sensor could have fault?is there any way of checking? Confused

If its a single wire sensor touch it right to earth, if its 2 wires put them together.
The guage should read top.

yep,it did, gauge went  to top so i least know that it must be the sensor.thanx for that guys!,now were the best place to get replacement? Wink
