I have had the RAC out today with a starting issue, Yesterday morning i went to start her, Nothing.. Today rac came out she fired straight away switched to lpg runs fine... switched off then again would not start. The bloke from rac said fuel pump was weak he took pipe off and fuel did come through but he said it should be at pressure not just trickling out of pipe.. Now then. I have been round all second hand dealers round here no troops (petrol anyway) Rac said any pump off a similar sized petrol injection engine would do, Some other people have said no it won't work because the psi of the pump will be different and would either be weak or run rich. Motor factors don't list the part and the most similar off a different car was £245 + vat.. So has anyone got a second hand pump for sale or know of a similar engined car with external fuel pump that would be ok on the troop, Or am i looking at a dealer part. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thankyou in advance

Try one of an old vauxhall injection they was external, same with some of the old fords.
But be carefull as they run at high pressure an you dont want to spring a leak .
Ive done some research and found
41-46psi pump pressure
25-30psi pressure when the engine is running.
thats for a 95 3.2 rodeo

on the 3.2 the pump is in the tank and it should deliver 0.39 liters per second in 15 seconds

Not sure if this helps, but i have a internal pump on my frontera which ran a 2.4i engine, i have since fitted an Isuzu 3.2V6 and the pump runs the engine with no probs so far!

Cheers

Mark

ok thankyou, thick me has only just realised why it's an external pump. It's because the tank is cut down and only holds £20 max to make room for the gas tank Embarassed
