Very Happy If your bumb stops are knackered just grind off the remains of them. the mot man said if they are not there its not motable!!!!! Ive done that with mine,but im gonna replace them as they are quite handy to ave!

well, took mine for test at 7:30 this morning....

Tester only commented on the fact that if i was keeping it, it'd be worth waxoiling, cause its very rusty underneath, whick is my intention this summer anyway.

Oh lordy !!! we seem to have alot of MOTs latley !!
My MOT is due on thursday 3rd of may..
Jobs So Far -
1 Refit the rear fog light
2 Replace a front side light bulb
3 Wash it.
 Hoping thats it.. and a bit of good luck, I should be ok  Question

mine got through with just a couple of advisories:
cv gaters deteriorating and slight play in a wheeel bearing
how easy are these jobs for a novice mechanic?

Mine went through on Tuesday, no problems, and a comment how up together it was. The emissions test was a bit harrowing though! Shocked

I had my daughter's car tested as well and they did the imissions on that but that was petrol,but can't see that should make a diffrence? Confused

They rev the nuts of the diesel, that's why they have disclaimers about knowing your engine is reasonably sound and the cambelt is ok. I think they are  sympathetic to older engines, I think it sounded worse than it was. I saw one being done at another garage and that was worrying! Shocked

My mot is due early july but going in for work monday,
new hand brake to be fitted, (got one from a mk1 broken locally, £15)
thats all that needs doing i hope.Except for a worrying grinding noise coming from front off side on full lock.
i cant see owt wrong though...
oh and maybe rust issues, it is a 1989 mk1!
And the flicking 4wd light on the dash.
I'll let you know how it goes.
