Tester only commented on the fact that if i was keeping it, it'd be worth waxoiling, cause its very rusty underneath, whick is my intention this summer anyway.

Mine went through on Tuesday, no problems, and a comment how up together it was. The emissions test was a bit harrowing though! _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Hi
Not sure about the emissions on mine they never did it,not sure why?
I had my daughter's car tested as well and they did the imissions on that but that was petrol, but can't see that should make a diffrence? _________________ Mickyboy

They rev the nuts of the diesel, that's why they have disclaimers about knowing your engine is reasonably sound and the cambelt is ok. I think they are sympathetic to older engines, I think it sounded worse than it was. I saw one being done at another garage and that was worrying! _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

My mot is due early july but going in for work monday,
new hand brake to be fitted, (got one from a mk1 broken locally, £15)
thats all that needs doing i hope.Except for a worrying grinding noise coming from front off side on full lock.
i cant see owt wrong though...
oh and maybe rust issues, it is a 1989 mk1!
And the flicking 4wd light on the dash.
I'll let you know how it goes. |
