With the 3.0dt, i think you get problems if the EGR is disconnected. But if it's still connected but unable to work then that may be ok. Keep us posted please on how it goes, could be useful. _________________ Isuzu Trooper SWB 3.0DT Commercial |

hey, I'm still confused (NOT REALLY), I've had no further engine problems since removing the EGR valves and the exhaust valve. And yet (magically) the fast warm up (which I guess is the button with a picture of an engine with a heating coil in it) still operates the idle to bring it up out of the 'shake myself to pieces' range. Unless there's some other use for the butterfly valve and it's not connected to the EGR valves, I'm stumped. I asked a diesel specialist about this too and without hinting this is what I'd already done, he said the EGR valves operate the butterfly valve and found this to be common problem, giving symptoms of a turbo failure; No power and lots of smoke.
I wonder if our jap imports are way different for yours. Either way, mine works fine now (touch wood). |
