93 Bighorn 3.1.
I have had a hose in my cooling system explode so would like to change all of the hoses.
Has anyone done this before? I need to buy all of the hose and then make sure I get them all. I have missed one once before on my old 1988 and it took a pressure test to show where the problem was. Any tips?
Plus I would like to flush the corrosion out of the system as it hasn't been maintained too well. I have already done a standard radiator flush 2 times. I have heard of backflowing or something similar but don't really know about it. Anyone know what the best option is for this? |

Also it all started because I found what seemed to be engine oil in the reservoir and radiator??? Thick greasy foam that smelled like oil. The radiator top hose has ben sucking itself flat as though there is a blackage but had it tested by my mechanic with no results.
Has anyone heard of this? |

You sure you have not got a headgasket problem? _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

I'm with Peej, oil in the water looks like you have a head gasket issue. |

That's what I thought. Mechanic has said it doesn't look like it. He said it even looks as though someone has put oil in the radiator???
Besides that.... I opened the oil cap and dipped my finger in. Clean (black) no creamy colour, watrer sign or faom in the head.

I'm not sure what has happened. Have flushed it 3 times now and clean reservoir and it stays clear. Either way, it was still sucking the top hose flat which would imply a blockage of some sort until the small hose burst yesterday... thus replacing all of the hoses now... |
