Hi
as you all know by now. lol, i have a 3.0 td trooper insignia, 2001.
Just lately it seems to be taking longer and longer to get her started. I turn ignition on and wait for glow plug light to go out, then it seems to take quite a number of turns to start her, and now i am noticing that she puffs out some blackish smoke then it goes away. I know that someone said a puff of black smoke was normal but i have only just started noticing it. |

Mine always takes several seconds turning over before it starts.
The 3.0 does seem to need to turn over quite quickly to fire, if my battery is a little low it takes a lot longer to start. It needs to build up the oil pressure before the ECU will allow the engine to start. _________________ Isuzu Trooper SWB 3.0DT Commercial |

just had mine seen too as taking forever to start, only picked her up from a main dealer as an Isuzu assurred vehicle last week and they had givern her a full service! But the knumb nuts had put the wrong oil in !! oil changed a now starts within a couple of seconds of heater lights going out
As a post on here says check the right oil for the 3.0 engines...it works! |
