I've been around horses for most of my life. I've got a picture some where of me on horseback before I could walk. My father rode all his life till he was 78. My brother rode steeple chasers and both rode to hounds as often as possible.

My mother taught for 40 years.

Even when I was in the R.N. I got to ride. The Marine base at Poole has a stables. Ex grade B show jumpers to play with !!

Now I'm back at the farm it's all D.I.Y. liveries and happy hackers since my brothers' divorce. His ex took all the high payers.

Good riddance.

When my father started you could count the horses in the county on one hand ! Now they're everywhere. I'm not complaining.

I always slow down but I get really annoyed when the rider doesn't acknowledge that fact that I did.

It's all very well saying horses were here first but it doesn't help when you're in A & E.
