Have any of you chaps been up the Corrieyairack Pass recently (2007)?   A few GLASS members from Manchester are planning a foray up the Pass at the end of July 2007 - but I've read that it suffered some weather damage over the winter that made it all bar undrivable.

Has anyone seen it or got any more info on it?

Cheers
Andrew

FYI, a few of us (Manchester GLASS members - and the GLASS Scotland Rep) went up there during the last week in July 07.   You can drive from the bothy for about three miles to the bottom of the zig-zags, when the track pretty much disappears.   There's a deep washout (about a metre deep and 10 metres long) followed by a step that's at least half a metre high.   It gets MUCH worse further up.

Sorry, but it just isn't drivable - not in a Trooper nor in a LR Defender 90.  A Unimog or a 6x6 big tyred buggy might just cope - but I didn't have either of those to hand.   It also piddled down for most of the day, so we weren't especially enamoured with the thought of doing any road-building to allow us to proceed a bit further.  MInd you, the scenary is great and we did drive some tracks in Abernethy forest and the An Sluggan track later on - so it was worth the effort  (well, it was for me, as I was on holiday anyway)

Cheers
Andrew
