So if I was sending Asin hubs (used) they would be in a normal box
EG "repaired under warranty" so there should be no VAT or duty ?
Am I correct ?

Well, it has to do with the "commercial value" so you have to be circumspect. No customs officer is going to be fooled by brand new auto items in the makers packaging... as a "gift".

Used hubs in a regular posting box marked "returned repair" with a nominal value for customs calculations will not attract much interest I am sure, although as with all of things related to Government tax collection you have to be careful as they are very vigilant.

Having said that, I bought a new digital camera from the Internet from a Canadian supplier who put the value of a $400 camera as $25! I didn't ask him to do that, but if it had been discovered, I would have lost the camera and been fined the amount of duty and VAT due on the full retail of the item, so although it was good of them in a way, they had no risk as they'd already had payment!

I buy stuff from the USA now and again for my Chevy.  Sometimes you get caught for tax sometimes you don't.  I've paid tax on a used power steering setup, I didn't pay tax on a power brake setup. Its seems to be pure chance.

I was offering Asin used hubs that I get
from the pick and pull yards

These are cleaned, any parts needing replaced gets done
Reassemble and mail have to be greased before mounting
cannot mail them with grease so just a light lube

So any body interested let me know
