well i have got 235/85/16 recip trials on mine and have had some astonishing articulation from a standard set up this weekend and they have not caught at all,,,,having read threads on here about suspension mods etc,,i know that the 235/85s are said to be not really suitable but I have had no problems whatsoever

265/75/16 are a better choice... slightly wider to help keep your heavy trooper in check! There are loads of guys on here running them. Also if its lifted then you may be able to squeeze 285/75/16 on but expect some rubbing.

285's just fit, so long as they are fitted to standard offset rims.  If the rim is not standard and pushes the tyre further from the centre line of the truck then it will rub.
I agree with Chris, 265's are a good compromise between offroad ability and road use.  But it does depend on your intended use of the truck.

an ex member used to have 33's on 15 inch rims, he had to take the front mudflaps off, and claimed no rubbage.

Personally i'd go with chris and webby, and say 265's is the safer multi purpose bet.
i think thats what most of us have got fitted.

Is it better to use the standard rims for fitting 265/75/16s because of the off set as the alloys im using at the moment stick out already with 245/70/16s (with standard suspension) Confused
