MMmmm you may want to start looking for somewhere else to live then Smile

Or alternatively get her to explain what she means by damage as you will most probably scuff it and scratch it a bit Smile

Sorry to revive an old thread but I like the "Clothing Required: 4 x 4 vehicle"  in the info.
Also does anyone know if they do these each year as I quite fancy going to one.

Thats excellent, ill have to keep an eye out for it then,  it will be my first real off roading other than going through a few bumpy fields and my car is a standard 3.0 Duty with Pirelli scorpion  AT tyres so do you think I will be able to cope ok?

This has just been sent to me

Hi,

I notice that you have been posting on the Kielder Offroad Safari days as organised by the Forestry Commission.

I have tried to post on the board but it was removed by a moderator - perhaps because I'm new here.

Grand Tour of Northumberland is an organisation tasked with putting on events to raise money for Mountain Rescue. The Forestry Commission have kindly allowed us deliver thier Kielder 4x4 Safari days in partnership with them due to the retirement of their event organiser. The first date in 2008 for this will be March 29th. There is availability for 30 vehicles. Should there be sufficient demand the Sunday (30th) will also be opened up. Potentially if you can get sufficient interest then we could look to making the Sunday an exclusive Trooper day.

Due to conservation issues the route will be vastly different to the one you undertook last time out and we will no longer be able to get onto Deadwater Fell as this is now a world class mountain bike trail. Instead we have the forest to the south of the resevoir to enjoy. I am going to be busy the next couple of weekends trying to match the quality of the routes from 2007 and hope to have a disused quarry developed for those that want more extreme driving.

The GToN website doesn't reflect our involvement with the Safari days as this is work in progress www.gton.co.uk will hopefully soon have more information and more dates... including a New Year's Day 2009 Safari. Mid February the Forestry Commission in conjunction with The Kielder Partnership publish their "What's On?" guide this will reflect all our dates too.

If you want to see if you can drum up some interest or just come along to one yourself then feel free to get in touch. Bookings aren't being taken yet but I can let you know as soon as we are ready.
