Well I've just bought a winch bumper from a MK1 frontera for the monterey.
If it bolts straight on I'll let people know - if it doesn't .... heheh out with the welder and the grinder _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

hehe was an eebuygum bumper - It's currently in my dad's garage in Peterborough :S BUT it was bought of a 4x4 uber nerd, and he recons that tke MK2 LWB trooper and the LWB frontera share a chassis, and it should bolt straight on with a little elongation of the bolts on the bumper.
I'll be popping down to pick it up the weekend after langdale. _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

It's probably the one that I had a bid on too
I don't think you'll have much bother fitting that to your Troop - even if it needs a bit of grindery and weldery - as most winch bumpers are pretty alike apart from the fixing brackets.
Let us know how you go on as it'll be useful info for anyone else looking to buy a secondhand bumper. |

Not sure about the chassis itself, the mk1 troop has just short of 27 inch between the bumper mounting rails.
Body width is roughly
Fronty 70 inch
Mk1 troop 65 inch
Mk2 troop 69 inch
ooooo there isnt a lot init is there.
Mk1 to mk2 was december 1991, ofcourse thats manufacture not registration _________________ |

Got a feeling that its compatable with the mk2 then! As for chassis width, the 2.8 i just dropped in the frontera went straight in without me even touching the engine mounts and the gearbox picked up in exactly the right position on the cross member!
Cheers

Cool, this is all sounding rather promising.
I wonder if it's worth getting together a list of parts which people have managed to fix between the different models? It would open the 2nd hand market up no end me thinks _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

A lot of gearbox parts are interchangable on the early Troopers and the steering box, Idler, And if you cant find an engine part at an Isuzu dealers then remove the 8 at the begining and the 0 at the end of the Isuzu part No. and you have the Vauxhall part No.
Cheers
