Hi! Folks

I have a 1989 Trooper 2.6 petrol LWB,  Got it from an auction about 5 months ago spent a lot of money getting it into a nice truck once more as it was a wreck.
I can do quite a bit of work myself but still a little lost when it comes to the motor, Now my problem at the moment is when I start I have a lot of smoke (white) this lasts for about 3 mins and then runs normal, I have no loss of power at all, slight creaming on the oil cap and some loss of coolent, motor never overheats, My first thinking was that the head gasket is blown.......but not sure ?

Not is has been some 30 years from when I last put a new head gasket on a car and then there was no over head cams, just rockers, I guess this old truck has overhead cams,  not sure ? If any of you guys think it is the gasket could you advice me on any problems also on the bolt numbers to undo first, have been told there are about 10 holding the head on.

Any help would be great

Take Care

Phil
