(1) The Gin clear lake being real Gin
(2) Tents that put themselves up
(3) A self stoking fire
(4) Sleeping next to said fire without fear of facial graffiti
(5) Said tents swiftly packing themselves away at the end
(6) A tonic water mountain spring to go with the real Gin lake
(7) Last but not least A free courier service to the off licence _________________ |

for those going for the first time this is the place, and once past ABLESIDE please do NOT use SAT-NAV or you will be green-laning.
Here are the basic directions.
How to get there
Take the A593 (Ambleside to Coniston) and just under two miles north of Coniston is a narrow road on the right, sign posted Hodge Close only.
Follow this road for about two miles until it opens out into a huge car park
Carry on through the car park and the road starts to go down hill, A few hundred yards further and you will see some cottages. The first cottage on the right has a gate and track to the left at 90% heading down hill leading to a rough track which bends round to the left and takes you to another gate, through this gate and turn right to the camping area.

and the post code for those that want AA route planner etc is
LA21 8DJ
please do not rely on your SAT-NAV it will not work and it will take you green laning. as happened on the last trip to some. |
