can anyone tell me if the bull bars for a mk2/4 are mounted in the same way as a mk4, I'm looking at buying some but the seller doesn't know which model it came off.

The fixing points are slighlty different - also the bumper sticks out further on the MK4 by about 2" and will foul a MK2 A-bar.

Ahh oh well I'll probably leave it unless he can confirm it's off a mk4.

OK... here goes

31" wide between large flanges
17" Height between hole centre in large flange and fixing tab (note - height not distance between!)

15" between hole centre on large flange and hole centre on fixing tab.  (note - measured horizontally not distance between!)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for all that, it's been a great help.

On reflection though I think I prefer the ones that go all the way across the front protecting th headlights.

So back to scouring eebuygum and the scrap yards.
