I use 50% rapeseed to 50% DERV in mine and it's sweet. It runs pretty well 100% rapeseed from home to the filling station every time I fill up because I put the veg in first at home and then drive to get the DERV - and it runs sweetly then too.

Absolutely no problems so far. Starts well and promptly from cold, runs and idles smoothly and excellent economy at 30+ mpg.

Incidentally, Tesco do 3ltr bottles of rapeseed for £1.68 each, or £0.66 per litre compared with Makro's £0.70.

I believe rapeseed is the best raw veg oil to use because it is a lower viscosity than corn and the others.

i use biodiesel in mine at about 50% .it runs fine if not better than normal diesel but takes ages to start when WARM at any higher concentration.starts fine when cold.only thing i can think of is glowplugs dont heat up when engine is warm but 50% seems happy all round

Well that blows the dealers statement out of the water as red diesel is exatly the same as white with a dye in it.

Watch you don't get caught, it will cost you more than pence a litre. The dye hangs around too.

exactly my thoughts about the cherry.didnt have alot to say when i told him most diesels have bio in without you knowing.correct me if im wrong but the diesel firms are allowed to add 5% without saying a word and that could well pas through 2-3 firms before we get it so we could all be runing 10%

by the way rallymarshall you should be able to find proper bio for about the same price as macro oil 70 p litre by my reckoning and then theres definately no chance of gumming your engine up as all the glycerol has been removed
