Hi I have a problem starting my 93 Bighorn 3.1td.  The other day I heard a knocking sound from the engine, when looking it was the housing for the relay switch had sheered and was bouncing about.  Next day wouldn't start.  Yesterday I got the bracket etc put back into place securely, but the 1st relay switch, the one nearest the fuse box was jamming.  gave it a few knocks with hammer, jump start and presto it started.  Went out this morning to start it and not a kick. Any suggestions, I am losing confidence as there seems so many people on this site with problems starting there vehicles.  Please Please can anyone help or give some advice where I could get a new relay switch, it maybe is not this but I have to try something.

Thanks for reading anyway.

One very distressed lady, have a cracking motor but it wont bloody go.

Lyn

I would address your problems in hand, fix your bracket, and perhaps your dodgy relay and go from there. I don't think the Trooper is a inherently bad starter, but of course any vehicle can be neglected. Stick with it, she obviously starts ok with a bump.
