Hi
I carried out a 1inch body lift to my 1995 Monty
i had a local company make the spacers
The lift went very well , Some other modification I made were
An extension to the suspension cross member supports.
The front bumper was also lifted to look better
I chose not too lift the rear so had to make new brackets to fix the sides on
I also lifted the engine and transmission an inch this allows the transfer box to fit up inside the chassis
I used it this weekend 1st to tow my caravan and the to off road all weekend
The modifications did not seem to affect the vehicles stability on or off the road.
I will try to post some pics but struggle with this

Was it fairly straight forward?
I'm on the verge of doing one on my SWB. _________________

Yes it was straight forward (a little time consuming and nerve racking )
You will need longer bolts for the captive mountings (LWB 6) not easy to find as the threads are 1.25 (motor industry fine)
I have some spare
I had too lift the edges of the carpet to get to some of the bolts
Mine is an auto so i don`t know if the manual has any problem associated with it |

I did 1.5" body lift on my hilux at the weekend, but thats a lot easier cause its in two halves
what was it like for stretching pipes and what not in the engine bay. you reckon you'd get 2" lift ok
or would that require more modification/relocation. what you think?
I've ordered a 2" body lift kit for another breed of Jap 4x4 (spacers and bolts) with the assumption i can make it all fit. _________________

The lifting of the engine and box is very intresting, because as we all know the transfer box hangs down like a sore thumb. _________________ |

Hi
2 inch lift may be pushing it (pipes/fan gear lever 4wd selecter etc) check for avaliability of bolts 1st you will need 12
I had no issues with the 1 inch lift
1 1/2 inch lift kits inc bolts are avaliable for approx £80.00 (with instructions)

Hi
You can only raise the engine and gearbox if you have lifted the body 1st
but yes it does get rid of that sore thumb of a transfer box and down pipes on the v6
Next job is to make a straighter stronger skid plate as the originals were sevearly modified last weekend

been thinking of doing body lift while doing all the other work, doesn't sound too hard then might have to get the 1 1/2 inch kit to complement the 3 inch suspension lift, wanna get bigger tyres on at some point so would be a start. |

The company on eebuygum is based in Barnsley - and they have a counter - I've heard some really good reviews about them (never been myself), and they are cheaper than milners _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :
