Keep seeing reference to this, but can't find specific details.

Anyone point me in the right direction please?

Will it affect towing a tin tent?

Thanks

er, yes, cause yer towbar will be 2" higher (or 1" 3/4 to be precise)  Wink

He got the springs from Pro comp, but, I ordered some at the end of August, and they aint come yet. I've heard and read,  that the firm they get their lift springs from, has ceased trading/gone bust.

I can't get no lift springs for my hilux either  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

Thanks Keith-possibly a no goer then

Not worried about the tow ball, as long as the van is level to nose down it will be fine.

It was more whether the handling would be affected.

Hard1's got the same springs, and he claimed improved handling from them.
There's a handful of other options, but they're more expensive, TBR uk, scorpion racing.
There's a thread in the suspension section 'pro comp lift spring saga' where the other avenues are listed. Scorpion racing do std, +1", +2" and a +3". wether they do em for the Troop or not is another matter.

i did the spings on rabbits car and it was not easy at all but i did do it in the end ,most of the problem was using a standard trolly jack(from argos) and doing it on the side of the road too.but with your tow bar you can add a plate on to it to lower the ball and you should be fine.

If I recall, a few members had issues with Milners uprated springs, not actually doing as they say on the tin.

Yep. Replaced my cheap Milners springs with OME.  The OME is very much better.  Takes more weight and has a greater lift.  I would look to a decient make as it will pay for itself in the long run.

Tim, the front springs are torsion bars.  These can be adjusted by the big bolt which is on the chassis rail under the drivers and front passenger doors.  Put the rear springs on then lift up the front to match.

Ok I'm still none the wiser...

I understand the concept of replacing the rear springs and cranking the torsion bars to lift the front end, however someone with more knowledge of 'what I need' will have to say something like 'so you drive a mk4 swb you'll need <insert brand name/model here>'

I know that I sound alarmingly newbie but hell everyone has to start out somewhere !  Confused

Any help is greatly appreciated !

Cheers !
