Has anyone here had any experience with Derv Doctor in Ashbourne , I'm thinking about having mine (97 3.1) optimised by them

I sent them an email asking about the possibility of doing my 3.0TD but they never responded

i guess your 3.0 would be an ecu chip , but the 3.1 with a mechanical pump is just adjustment

hi peter ,why not do it your self i did ,all that derv docter does is turn the pump up a bit ,if you ring him and ask him what he does ,he wont tell you it is the easest way of getting 150 quid out of someone ,to get more power ,on the back of the pump at 1oclock there is a tin seal over the mixture screw ,cut it off undo the locking nut and turn the screw 1/3 clockwise tighten nut ajust tickover ,you may need to ajust the pedeometer on top of the pump also ,you may have to play around a bit to get it just right ,ie not to much black smoke but i did it on mine and have 15 bhp more ,it flys up hills now as before it was a bit sluggish ,it also passed mot with no problem, hope this helps and saves you some money ,i was told how to do this by a diesel specialist of 30 years .
