Dropped in on Chris this morning as he offered to fit a pinion seal for me, so thanks Chris (dxmedia)
Was greeted to a what at first appeared to be a spectacular sunrise, but it turned he had left the garage open with his wellies in full view
After the tinkering we headed down stanage edge then back up with much planning, cross axles and low flying waffle boards we both got up
I got well stuck but got up in the end and Chris in his fronty got with a slightly wavy chassis cross member
Having worked out the line I would do it again with a bit more lift and preferably some taller tyres (LSD would be a big help too). For those who don't know stanage is allot harder than it was earlier in the year due to heavy water erosion. Do NOT try to go up a stock hight truck or on your own.
Chris will hopefully be along with some pics _________________ Front Aussie Locker - Rear LSD - Petrol Diffs

It was cold... very cold
There was landrovers with winches and lifts which needed recovering...
hhahahahahhahahha
BUT
Stanage was taken on without spotters (drivers picking own routes )
Then we had a look, and DID IT
NO LSD's, NO lockers, NO - err scratch that one - damage
Two IFS cars straightish up the side of stanage edge.
The not mentioned damage - LWB MK1 trooper (Matskii) Scratched rear spring hangers, and a nicely filed transfer case. SWB MK1 Frontera (now known as the landrover saver ) twisted centre cross member
But, we came, we saw, we turned round, and we made some sparks _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

You've cocked a front leggy a little
As Matt's said, DON'T try this in a stock trooper (or any 4x4 bar unimog), you will get stuck and you will cause more damage than we did. Get a lift, get some tyres, go have some fun though _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

Some good pics there chaps!
Nice to see you looking after the landrover brigade
We recovered a 4x4 Wrangler when we were up there a while ago, we then took our Fronteras, a stock Landcruiser and a stock Niva Cossak up Stanage Edge HERE
Its great rescuing those that think your trucks wont make it aint it!
Cheers

By the time we got the landy out (was resting on front and back diffs) a pile of people had come to have a laugh - a rangie, couple of zuk's and a defender iirc. There was plenty of smirking taking place with the purple hairdresser car doing the recovering _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

What was brilliant to see was the winch on the front, in perfect, some may say, unused condition _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :
