Looks expensive for a 44 galon drum and a plaster stirer. I wouldn't trust it for used chip fat though - it's a very complex process for removing the water and rubbish floating in the oil.

It is good that bio is getting publicity though - something has to change, and the toyota prius isn't the answer.... _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

i don`t think bio diesel is the way to go as from some of the articles i have read to produce enough at the present usage rate of fossil derv every bit of land used for food production would have to be used for bio diesel crops which would rather defeat the objective |

That's the bush government mess...
If you don't mind me grabbing my soap box...
Corn has an oil content of ... what about 10%??
Alge is about 60% - now how difficult is it to grow alge, stagnent water > err light >> green mulch.
With a few tanks in the back garden it's more than feasible to create your own fuel. This isn't a global solution, but it's a personal one. _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

no i don`t mind climb up thats what makes for healthy debate while all these solutions are all very well in the short term they still all rely on engines the basic design is still the same as when they were invented
hydrogen power where the the hydrogen is obtained from water seems to be a very good prospect although a little expensive one benefit is it also produces oxygen how clean is that |

ahhh nuclear fusion
Yes THAT IS THE ANSWER. unfortunatly the only recorded working fusion was in a huge accelerator in cambridge - for a split sencond about 5 years ago the dials went +ve - it takes a HUGE amount of power to run the equipment and although getting an output is possible, the problem is creating a bigger output than input.
As for hydrogen powered cars. NO hydrogen is not a fuel. It's a storage medium > it's increadably inefficent converting electricity into hydrogen (electrolysis) then burning the hydrogen in an internal combusion engine to release the energy. Unfortunatly the government is still in this weird 1960's sifi > hydrogen is the new 'cool' fuel. _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

I still don't know 100% (or how to find out 100%) if my 3.1TD can run on the stuff (bio-fuel) _________________ '93 Trooper Duty 3.1TD |

A 3.1 will run fine on Bio , I've been using it for a while now at 100% , but , and it's a big but , the firm I've been buying it from (Bio UK Fuels in Sheffield ) are having problems , so as a result so am I , and I guess many others will be aswell , they say it's some Palm oil that's to blame , I drained my tank into a drum and it's just full of congealed fat I've filled up with normal diesel and changed the filter twice but if it carries on i look like removing the tank but the big question is , who's going to pay for it |
